Design ideation seems more accurately and meaningfully described as application of "creative intelligence", rather than "artificial intelligence". This is because calling it artificial intelligence suggests design is like a math problem, and math is the underlying language of machine learning, instead of a social and cultural approach to problem solving. And so, the design focus shifts from artificial intelligence to creative intelligence, from finding solutions relying on data and pattern recognition to creating value and meaning through human intuition, emotion and critical thinking. Indeed, the word "artificial" suggests something synthetic that lacks the depth of natural human thought.
